A Can for Your Comments

We'd like to think that we have a few blog visitors who frequent our site once in a while. Our site stats tell us as much and we want to reach out to you and get to know you. Doesn't matter if you're just passing by perusing a friend's wedding photos or a bride amidst planning trying to get inspiration from the wedding photos of other brides or you're just another photographer visiting. We want to know who you are! We LOVE it when people leave comments, feedback or questions.

To encourage you to come out and introduce yourself to us, we are participating in a program that the amazing Chris+Lynn Photographers launched a year ago called, Cans for Comments. Basically, for every comment that you leave on ANY post on this blog up to December 14, we will donate a canned good to the local Vancouver food bank.

Did you know that in March 2009, over 72,000 Canadians used a food bank for the very first time? (Source: Food Banks Canada Hunger Count 2009 Report)

It won't cost you anything other than a minute or two of your time to say hello (spam NOT counted! Sorry!). Just click on the link below ANY blog post that says "## comments" or click the title of the post and leave your comments at the bottom of the page. Please note that comments are moderated. Your comment will not appear immediately after you submit them until after it's been approved.

We can't wait to hear from you! And because a blog post ain't just pretty without an image, here are a few from various family portraits we have yet to blog!

Elegant UBC Boathouse Wedding: Sonny+Christina *Just Married*

Sonny and Christina had a jam-packed schedule on their big day. It was indeed a celebration on many levels. It was a celebration of life and of love. It is even more meaningful when that love is celebrated many times over in different cultural traditions, religious backgrounds and amidst family and friends. And that's exactly how this day was. Our senses were on overdrive from the color, the expressions, the taste and the emotion that we hope we were able to capture.

Here are a few of our favorites throughout the day!

Christina's serious accessories for the Sikh ceremony.
Sonny chilling with his best man and the rest of the groomsmen before the Sikh ceremony.
Last minute touches on our gorgeous bride before she walks in!
Sonny waiting for his bride.

Reading of the Lavan hymn. Christina, holding the scarf, walks behind Sonny and make their way around the holy book four times.

We were kept indoors as it was a very, very wet morning but the white walls of the Akali Singh Sikh Temple make for a very clean background which makes the red stand out!

I love the vibrant colors Christina chose for the wedding, deep purple, burgundy and chartreuse! Garlands Florist did an awesome job with these flowers.

Simple, yet beautiful Jim Hjelm dress.

Check out the heels on these Pura Lopez shoes!

After hours and hours of non-stop downpour, the sun eventually came out for a bit during the prep before the Catholic Ceremony which provided us with this cool rainbow background for the ring shots... No, our camera is not that dirty, it's the window at the hotel...

Sonny puttin' on his Ermenegildo Zegna suit!

The girl's dresses were by Charsa from Frocks Modern Bridesmaids!
We headed over to Sonny's dad's house for a quick ceremony with Sonny's aunts. These were shot at their backyard which we managed to shoot for a few minutes before we totally lost any light.

I LOVE what Debut Event Design, Inc. did to transform the John MS Lecky UBC Boathouse into an elegant space.

We've been shooting weddings after weddings with cakes from Original Cupcakes. And you can see why.

The rain clouds made for a great dramatic sky that night! These photos were taken around 10pm that night.

Congratulations, Sonny and Christina! This has been a great event for us to photograph! We can't wait for you to see the rest of the images!

Pacific Palisades Wedding: Dwight+Janis Just Married!

Dwight and Janis came to us after seeing our work and how we work at Ryan and Vanessa's wedding a year ago. Dwight works in the film industry so it's a compliment for us when they booked us. Their wedding was filled with beauty and love! It was a crisp autumn day and there was a buzz of excitement, happiness, nervousness and great anticipation as the girls prepared at a Penthouse suite at Pacific Palisades Hotel. Dwight got his "bad self" ready with the guys at their newly bought condo a few blocks away. Everything was on time as the girls diligently checked their watches and the schedule and before they know it, they had to make their way to the Mambo Ballroom for the ceremony. Here are some of our favorite shots throughout the day.

Beautiful flowers by Evan from Flower-z. Janis had photos of their grandparents on her bouquet.

Dwight's to-bring list...
We're all about efficiency here... 3 pairs of hands are definitely better than one...
Janis's necklace was her mother's which had been a gift from her parents.
I'm seriously in love with the details of gorgeous San Patrick dress.
Janis starting to get emotional...

Such a handsome couple!

Celebration continued at Zin Restaurant at the Pacific Palisades Hotel.

What did I tell you about the dress? Pure gorgessity!

Quick practice before the dance!

This is my favorite photo... the tender looks, the lighting... perfect!
Congratulations, Dwight and Janis! We are blessed to have photographed your wedding!
