Fab Fam: Kaughman Portraits

This fab fam (what we fondly call our fabulous family portraits) session is long overdue. The session was originally scheduled for last summer after Louise Kaughman won the session with us at a charity auction for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Upon the Kaughman family's request, we've deferred the session until this year. I'd say that was a fortunate deferral... TJ and Brittany are both one year older and one year towards gorgeous-land. I'll spare ya the mindless chatter and git on with the photos... check it out - they're bigger (and hopefully better! haha!)

Meet TJ, oozing with coolness.

Just 16 and working it.
And now you'll get the pleasure of meeting Brittany, who celebrated her 15th birthday the day of our session...
Yes, her eyes are really that intense aquamarine color.
... and she's got the Tyra Banks stare down to a T.
Brothah and sistah togetha....
While we went to this session thinking it was a family portrait, Louise only wanted us to photograph the kids and mainly wanted this to be a gift for Brittany. After some coaxing and pleading, she's agreed to do some shots with TJ and Brittany.
Louise, TJ and Brittany, it was our pleasure of doing this for you. You are one gorgeous family and we hope we did you justice!

Hot Momma: Sarah's Maternity Portraits

When we did Sarah's intimate portraits in October, she was already expecting her and Rick's first child. Yes, she was hot then and she's still hot now.

Sarah looks so blissfully happy in this shot.

Easter Monday was a really gorgeous day. Very fitting for a gorgeous mummy.

The baby was enjoying the portrait session as well. He/She would move around in mummy's cozy tummy to attract attention.

I wish my tummy looked half as good as Sarah's!

Mommy and baby enjoying the early Spring sun.

Dramatic lighting to end the session.

Congratulations, Rick and Sarah! You guys would make really wonderful parents. Can't wait to meet the little one!

Ray Lebel Portraits

It's time for another issue of our company's newsletter and the profiled employee is music enthusiast, Ray Lebel. For this shoot, I just asked Ray to step into our building's fire exit stairwell.

Here are a few shots from the session...

Sarah: An Intimate Glimpse

This is our very first foray into boudoir photography, thanks to our gorgeous model and past bride, Sarah. We're not quite sure what to expect but capturing our gorgeous model made it easy for us. What was planned as a 1-hour shoot turned into a 3-hour session. Here are a few discreet favorites...

Sarah, it was definitely great to work with you again and hopefully do more portraits in the future! We hope Rick likes what our cameras saw!

Fab Fam: Jose, Isip and Gabaldon Portraits

As in our previous post on Annie, we went out to capture the beauty, the laughter and the love evident in the Jose, Isip and Gabaldon families. Right off the bat, everybody was just so ready to strike a pose. Under the warm glow of the late afternoon sun, we herded 9 people through Garry Point Park. Here are some of our favorites.

Mom and dad, grandma and grandpa, husband and wife... The lovely Evelyn and groovy Cris Jose.
Tyra Banks and Jay Manuel, look out! We were first to photograph America's and Canada's Next Top Models in Ashley and Katrina.
The little darling, Jacquie...
After the photoshoot, she offered me this flower she picked from the field. Sooo sweet!
Cousins Jacquie, Ashley and Katrina
Annie, Josen, Katrina and Jacquie Gabaldon
The Gabaldons with Annie's mom and dad... we love how each one had a genuine expression in this shot.
Eric, Marique and their pretty daughter Ashley who is an incoming Senior. Ashley, we're serious about our offer to shoot you next year when you graduate from highschool. Come back and see us... or maybe we can fly to Cali? Hmmm....
Everybody in the shot...
It's really hard to shoot a big group so thanks to everyone for being patient and putting on your best pose for this portrait session!

If anyone is interested in booking a family portrait session with us, please contact us for details.

Annie Gabaldon Portraits

Rico has also been taking photos at his day job for their company's newsletter, Click. For their next issue, they needed portraits of Annie Gabaldon, a project manager, as their featured employee. We know Annie and her family outside of work and they couldn't have picked a better person with a big heart and big personality to boot.

Lately, she and her family have played significant roles in our lives here in Canada. When we moved into our current home a year and a half ago, they were so kind as to welcome us with wonderful homemade lunch which we all shared in our dining room. When we shoot weddings, her cousin-in-law would look after our little one, Mikka. And after finally admitting that all we had for dinner was a box of Timbits and Iced Cappuccino after an exhausting e-shoot, they fed us homemade dinner in their own home. Visits with them have always been fun where everybody has a keen sense of humor and Annie, well, she's got an infectious laughter that just keeps on going and going.

But there's another side to Annie that we were not aware of prior to the portrait session. She tutors kids with dyslexia to improve on their reading skills. Here are some of the photos we took while she talked about the special teaching technique to help these kids to be successful in school.

Playing with teaching aids to form their company's initials.
Showing us how she uses a toy worm to visually explain long vowels vs. short vowels.
I love how this picture just shows her fun side as we know it.
Here's another photo of Annie and her youngest daughter, Jacquie, who just woke up from her afternoon nap. We took this after the above portrait session.

Before we left, we got to talking about how our business is doing. With her sister and her family as well as her mom and dad being in town, they immediately decided to ask us to take family portraits which of course we were more than happy to do. We'll have a separate blog entry on the actual photoshoot of the family portraits. Watch out for that!

g-shoot: Sarah

We will be covering Sarah and Rick's wedding in July with Coal Harbour, the Burrard Inlet and the Northshore Mountains as the backdrop. Rico took pictures of her last January around Richmond. Stay tuned for pictures of her wedding in July.

You can see more of her pics here.
